K-12 School District Selects ZixEncrypt, ZixProtect and ZixArchive, Touting Ease-of-Use and Rapid Deployment DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun. 4, 2019-- Zix Corporation (Zix), (Nasdaq: ZIXI), a leader in email security, today announced that Wilson County Schools, a K-12 school district in Wilson County, Tennessee, has added ZixEncrypt, ZixProtect, and ZixArchive to strengthen its email security and compliance posture. With all faculty members using a combination of Office 365 and G Suite, Wilson County Schools needed a single platform that could secure multiple email domains, while enhancing compliance with The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). With ZixEncrypt, Wilson County Schools is able to filter, identify, and automatically secure FERPA information in faculty’s outbound emails, including personally identifiable information derived from education records. Wilson County Schools also plans to integrate Zix encryption within Skyward Family Access, the school district’s web-based parent portal, to secure communications between teachers and parents. Wilson County Schools added ZixProtect to provide advanced threat protection for malicious inbound email, including phishing emails, while ZixArchive was selected for its eDiscovery capabilities, particularly in light of simplifying the process of responding to FOIA requests. “Wilson County Schools is committed to fostering secure communications between faculty and parents, both to meet FERPA compliance requirements, but also, simply, because we value the trust and privacy of those in our school community,” said Tom Waller, director of technology for Wilson County Schools. “Zix not only provides an easy-to-use experience for our IT administrators and supports our various email platforms, but deployment was also incredibly quick – we were up and running in just 10 days.” “The use of technology and the prevalence of data within K-12 school districts is only continuing to increase, and security and privacy practices need to keep pace. We’re deeply committed to helping our customers do just that,” said Dave Wagner, Zix CEO. “By equipping Wilson County Schools with our email encryption, advanced threat protection, and email archiving and eDiscovery capabilities, we are making their security and compliance easier than ever before, so that they can focus on what they were meant to do: deliver an exceptional learning experience to their students.”
